Flower Power

Energy givers > everything.

If you’re asking me, the main ingredient to a successful life is how good you feel. Have you ever felt not great looking at flowers? This is why I keep them around. Not only are flowers beautiful and smell good, but they can raise your vibration.

Think of it as, flowers being an investment for your self-care. I like to call it, “bouquet therapy.” They don’t say anything, they just look pretty and provide a sense of calm and ultimately amp up your at-home atmosphere with something that radiates positive energy!

It’s a fact. Flowers can help to relieve stress and boost your mood. It’s a simple, cost effective way to introduce some feel-good vibes into your home. And not just for women. For men, too! But not just that, research has found that being around flowers increases the level of compassion you feel for others, and helps to be more conscientious to improve those relationships. It’s also theorized that flowers “had significantly more positive physiologic responses evidenced by lower systolic blood pressure, and lower ratings of pain, anxiety, and fatigue” versus those who didn’t have flowers present. Low cost therapy? I’m in!

‘Tis the season for flowers and chocolates, and one Rutgers study involved analyzing the effect that flowers had on individuals and not only are they mood boosters, but they seemed to have a positive impact on memory -- go figure! So if you want your date to remember you this year, don’t forget to plan ahead and buy a bouquet.

And, nowadays it's rare to see a man who will surprise a woman with flowers. (Hint to the couples out there - flowers will ALWAYS get you all the brownie points!) So ladies and gents, whether it’s once in a while, this Valentine’s day or every week,  do yourself a favor and get some flowers for your nest or a loved one.

The beautiful bouquet pictured in my home below is from Amelia’s Flowers in Nashville, TN.
