Prioritizing Your Mental Health Every Day
Mental health is not just about what we’re feeling in the moment—it’s about the bigger picture of how we take care of ourselves day in and day out. On this World Mental Health Day, I want to take a moment to talk about the importance of self-awareness, holistic health, and personal growth.
We often ask ourselves, “How do I feel?” but mental health is about so much more than that. It’s about understanding the habits we cultivate and how they impact our overall well-being. Self-awareness is key—when was the last time you truly checked in with yourself? When you look in the mirror, do you recognize and love who you are? If not, that’s a powerful invitation to reflect.
Mental health, to me, is holistic. It’s the combination of mind, body, and spirit. It’s about the way we move, the way we connect with others, and the way we nourish ourselves. Each of these factors plays a critical role in how we feel mentally and emotionally. When you take care of your body, engage in meaningful relationships, and do things that bring you joy, you create a foundation for mental well-being.

Are we setting aside time to reflect on what lights us up? For me, that’s spending time with loved ones, cooking, exploring new things, and moving my body. These habits ground me and empower me to show up as my best self.

It’s about showing up for yourself—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
